Kiev Agrihort 2010, the 13th Ukraine International Agriculture and Horticulture Exhibition, ended on 4 February

Kiev AgriHort 2010, which was held in the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, ended on 4 February. 

The international agriculture and horticulture exhibition was supported by:

  • Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine
  • Agrarian Policy and Land Relations Committee of the Verkhonva Rada of Ukraine
  • Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation
  • Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine
  • Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland
  • European Landowners' Organization.

The following people took part in the official opening ceremony on the first day of the conference:

  • Anatoly Skorchenko, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine
  • Nikolay Prysyazhnyuk, Head of the Agrarian Policy and Land Relations Committee of the Verkhonva Rada of Ukraine 
  • Leonid Kozachenko, President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation
  • Nicolai Markevich, Deputy President of the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine
  • Andzhey Grabowski, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Poland; Director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Section

In their welcome addresses, the guests of honour emphasised the importance of the Kiev AgriHort exhibition, which has become one of the most important international agricultural events.   

Yury Melnik, Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy, congratulated the organisers, exhibitors and visitors on the opening of KievAgriHort 2010.  "During my tenure, the exhibition has become one of the most prominent agricultural events in Ukraine.  Each year, KievAgriHort brings together the leading players in the agricultural products market from Europe and the CIS, and helps guide them in the trends and areas of future activity," said Mr. Melnik.    

He also expressed his hope that KievAgriHort 2010 would help speed up the implementation of innovative processes in the agricultural sector of the Ukrainian economy; strengthen international cooperation; attract foreign investment in the domestic agro-industry; and facilitate sharing of the latest agricultural experience, and modernisation of the agricultural industry.       

130 companies from 16 countries (Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Latvia, Turkey, China, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, France, Ireland, Canada, Spain, USA and UK) took part in Kiev AgriHort 2010. 

Over 10,000 specialists from different countries visited the exhibition over the three days, 2-4 February. 

The exhibitors included international leaders in the fields of livestock and poultry farming (Big Dutchman, ÒÅÕÍÀ, VAL-CO, Hellmann Poultry and others), and crop farming and plant cultivation equipment (Agrospetsproject, GSI International, Karlovsky Machine Building Plant, Morillon SAS, Adept-Group, Buchachagrochlibprom Ltd, Symaga SA, Aeromeh SPF, Komsomolets, Schmidt Seeger Gmbh and Silvinit).       

For the first time, KievAgriHort Bioenergy, the International Exhibition of Alternative Energy, was held alongside the exhibition.  The following companies presented their technologies: Adept groups, Intersystems, Morillon SAS, Amandus Kahl Gmbh & Co. Kg and Muyang Biomass Engineering Co.

Having participated in KievAgriHort 2010, the majority of domestic and international companies will, in the future, introduce the latest technologies and equipment to Ukraine, develop Ukraine's agricultural market, and obtain the maximum benefit from their efforts.
